In three keynote speeches by Takahiro Nakajima (Tokyo), Xudong Zhang (NYU) and Markus Gabriel (Bonn) this workshop will analyse the connections between (digital) technology and various forms of modernity.

Markus Gabriel (Bonn): New Ethics of AI
Takahiro Nakajima is Professor at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia at the University of Tokyo. His research focus is oriented towards East Asian philosophy in comparative context, and World Philosophy by seeking for the “universalizing.”
Xudong Zhang is Professor of Comparative Literature and East Asian Studies at NYU. His research interests include critical theory, modernism and modernity, and twentieth-century Chinese literature and culture.
